History

Former Design Partner and Senior Design Architect (respectively) at Quadrangle Architects, Rom Colthoff and Witt laid the foundations for raw design while processing designs for the acclaimed Cube Lofts condo project in Toronto[1] (formerly known as N-Blox). The company officially launched in November, 2007, celebrating their launch party the following summer with a raw-themed event in a rearranged office workspace.[2] raw has since undertaken a number of developments in the commercial and residential market. One of the company's prominent initiatives is their contribution to the concept of Main Streets. A significant amount of raw's projects involve the unification of commercial retail storefronts and above-ground residential space in this manner.
